Why Choose LUMINOL TRi?

Outperforms naphthenic electrical insulating oils with breakthrough technology

Corrosive Sulphur Free

Contains no corrosive sulphur compounds that may lead to transformer breakdown. Does not require passivators.

Superior Heat Transfer

Isoparaffinic base oil provides excellent heat transfer, helping transformers operate cooler in high ambient temperatures.

Outstanding Cold Weather Performance

Pour point of -60°C/-76°F ensures reliable operation even in extreme cold conditions.

Negative Gassing Tendency

Reduces the risk of failure from hydrogen gas bubbles under electrical stress conditions.

Performance Features

Demonstrated Characteristics

LUMINOL TRi is ideal for use in large power and distribution transformers operating at peak capacity, as well as free-breathing units, pad mount, and pole mount transformers for commercial, industrial, and institutional applications.

Excellent heat transfer capability to enhance transformer performance
High dielectric impulse strength (>300 kV) for overvoltage protection
Low power-factor (dielectric loss) to reduce thermal runaway under high electric stress
Negative gassing to reduce risk of failure from hydrogen gas bubbles
Full compatibility with existing naphthenic insulating oils
Colourless appearance for easy visual inspection
High interfacial tension (48 dynes/cm) for reduced sludge formation
Ultimate biodegradability in natural environments
Environmental Benefits

Environmental, Health & Safety

LUMINOL TRi is produced using ultra-refined isoparaffinic base oil. It can help reduce disposal costs and the potential impact of spills, as well as answer possible environmental concerns about transformer oil toxicity.

  • Ultimate biodegradable in natural environments
  • Negative gassing tendency reduces risk of fire and explosion
  • High flash point (170°C / 338°F) for improved safety
  • Reduces disposal costs and environmental impact
